The BIG 3D Creator system is used in innovative ways in the field of industrial design, reverse engineering and quality inspection. We have partnered with industry leading companies, integrating the 3D Creator with CAD (“Computer-Aided Design”) and CAM (“Computer-Aided Manufacturing”) programs.

The 3D Creator digitizes 3-Dimensional objects in real time. Using a cordless or wired hand-held probe, x, y, z coordinates of the object are entered by tracing surfaces, edges or by entering individual points such as corners and datums. This information is input into a CAD or CAM program for graphics display and object manipulation. The resulting data can be saved in various industry-standard file formats (such as IGS, DXF, DWG and others.) to be sent to other applications. For motion capture, or external object tracking, x, y, z coordinates and u and v rotational vectors are reported.
